What do you do when your chosen career must change?
Helene Magnusson has a similar background to Carrie Ryan. She was born in 1969, raised in France, completing her law degree in Paris, married, had three daughters, and then knitting changed her life. She moved to Iceland in 1995 attending Textiles and Fashion Design at the Iceland Academy of Arts. Her passion continued as she studied passionately the traditions of Icelandic knitting, which led to her two books: Icelandic Color Knitting and Icelandic Handknits. Helene believes the best way to preserve traditions is to continue using them. Her passions include nature, mountaineering, hiking and cross-country skiing, knitting tours, the Icelandic traditions and culture and, of course, knitting traditions. Iceland, the land of fire and ice. This awesome mural adorns the outside of her studio.
Life Lesson:
“Happiness is achieved when you stop waiting for your life to begin and start making the most of the moment you are in.”
