changes, knowing when to conquer and when to comfort."

Walking in a Sculpture Garden

In an earlier blog, I suggested that we prepare a SAFE on-the-go bag:

S –        Spares – eyeglasses, phone and charger, medications, a pair of socks, snacks

A –       Attitude – acceptance because it is what it is. Be positive.
F –        Facts – a list of medications and contact information for medical personnel and family members

E –       Entertainment – a book, my knitting project, a hobby, ear pods, a laptop - anything you enjoy doing to pass
the time because it’s hard to wait. Better to be busy than bored.

Sitting in a waiting room, no matter how well we are prepared is very tiring, so I decided to take a walk around the campus of the Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California, while my husband was seeing his doctor. The abundance of art is everywhere, and I marveled at the beauty unfolding before my eyes. The time passed very quickly, and we both left the campus feeling energized and relieved!

Self-care Ritual: take a walk in a new area – the adventure and the art will astound you! And don’t forget your camera.
