Talking It over with Friends

Spirituality has three answers to prayer or desire: maybe it’ll be "yes," "not yet," or "I have something even better in mind." The last one epitomizes optimism and like every human muscle, optimism is another muscle that gets stronger with use. You can be angry, but the trick is not to stay angry because the tragedy with anger is you miss the lesson and meaning of the experience you are going through. It often helps to talk with friends to share moments of concern and elicit responses; there’s an idea for everything!

Self-Care Ritual: Now is a great time to take a personal self-care assessment. By focusing on your personal self-care needs, you will be better able to assist your care receiver, holding out your arms in kindness. Assessments can be divided into six domains: physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, workplace or professional, and balance. Sometimes, during periods of stress, we may forgo our self-care rituals. Assessing our needs returns us to where we need to be. Consider taking this self-care assessment.
