"Courageous care partners recharge with self-care, striving for peaceful pinnacles
in patience, persistence, and positive
changes, knowing when to conquer and when to comfort."

My Wife and My Mother-in-Law” by British cartoonist William Ely Hill was showcased in the American humor magazine Puck in November 1915. It is arguably one of the most famous optical illusions in the world. Some people see a young lady with her head turned towards the background while others see an elderly woman's side profile. After being shown the image for less than a second, study participants were asked what they thought the age of the woman they saw first was. The results showed that people tended to see the woman that was closer to their own age.

This may not be an optical illusion, but it illuminates confusion, disillusion, or masterful animation on your part. Also anger intensity can be affected by subconscious unresolved issues that lurk below the surface. Look beneath the surface to understand what is causing your response. Can you find yourself below the surface?

Self-care Ritual: dealing with hurt feelings isn’t easy and oftentimes, our care receiver isn’t fully aware of our feelings for they are consumed with their own journey. Breathe, set limits, take a break – do whatever is possible to calm yourself down. An iceberg may become an ice breaker as you uncover your solace and peacefulness. Are you okay?
