Be a remarkable care partner by taking care of yourself, too!

  1.       Keep a journal of your thoughts, ideas, experiences, resources, interests.
  2.       Write about your treasured family stories.
  3.       Send cards to people in nursing homes, prisons, soldiers, or even organizations.
  4.       Feeling confident? Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.
  5.       Try a new recipe or a new food, or buy too much and share some with your neighbors.
  6.       Use your good linens and dishes – saving for your rainy day, it’s your rainy day today.
  7.       Make holiday, birthday, get-well, I-treasure-you cards for friends and family.
  8.       Engage is some creative dresser and closet cleaning. Group your clothing by colors.
  9.       Borrow a book from the library in an unfamiliar genre. 
  10.       Enroll in a class like line dancing or learning to play bridge.
  11.       Get a pet to talk to and to be with and to walk with.
  12.       Volunteer at a museum, senior center, or the library after-school homework club. 
  13.       Write poetry.
